The Accounting and Tax Analyst is part of the Accounting Operations team, responsible for ensuring the City's financial transactions comply with federal, provincial, and municipal tax laws. This includes applying GST/HST, PST, Non-Resident Tax, and other relevant legislation. The role involves complex municipal accounting and taxation work, requiring advanced research and application skills.
Requirements include experience with tax research tools, working knowledge of SAP or similar systems, and expertise in complex fund accounting, financial reporting under PSAB, and tax legislation.
Skills required include analytical abilities, negotiation, risk evaluation, strong communication, organizational skills, and the capacity to work independently and in teams.
The City’s COVID-19 vaccination policy is currently suspended. Should circumstances change, proof of vaccination may be required.
