Job summary

Canada Life is seeking an Accounting Systems Coordinator to handle day-to-day Operational Accounting, investigate discrepancies in the claims payment process, and reconcile suspense accounts across BEN, PAS, EAS, SAP and E&C systems. You will guide internal procedures and support colleagues to ensure accurate allocation of experience at policy or division levels.

The role requires post-secondary administrative education, strong math and Excel skills, and reliable collaboration with teams.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education with an administrative background and/or related work experience.
  • Strong mathematical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong team player – able to work well in a team to meet overalldeadlines.
  • Reliability Status Security Clearance – required as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage suspense accounts, investigate discrepancies, and provide reporting using BEN, PAS, EAS, SAP and E&C systems.
  • Coordinate with GWL and TPP to identify corrective actions for claim reporting.
  • Guide policies and procedures to ensure administrative and system controls are followed.
  • Direct teams to resolve E&C Suspense and ensure timely claim clearance.
  • Perform adhoc analyses and generate management reports.
  • Evaluate processes to identify efficiency improvements.
  • Support internal business partners and provide coverage for other team roles.

Job description

The Accounting Systems Coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day Operational Accounting, providing accurate and timely service to all internal and external customers by investigating and solving discrepancies in the claims payment process by monitoring and reconciling applicable suspense accounts and ensuring accurate allocation of experience at a policy and/or division level.

Accountabilities:
  • Suspense account monitoring, investigation, clearing and reporting by searching and analyzing BEN, PAS, EAS, SAP and E&C systems.
  • Monitor claim reporting and identifyingappropriate corrective action in cooperation with both GWL and TPP individuals.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to ensure policies and procedures, both administrative and systematic are being followed
  • Direct GIPA and GPS to correct systems and procedures so claims can clear E&C Suspense
  • Perform adhoc duties including searching, analyzing and creating management reports
  • Evaluating processes to identify opportunities for enhancement and improvement
  • Providing assistance to internal business partners
  • Providing support coverage to other roles on the team

  • Reliability Status Security Clearance – this can only be completed with candidates who receive an offer of employment. This is a personal security status that is required as a condition of employment before an employee can gain access to Protected B information, assets or work sites as outlined by theGovernment of Canada website. The cost of submitting these checks will be covered by Canada Life.

The base salary for this position is between $38,700 - $52,400 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
