Job summary

Position: Accounting Manager in Burnaby. Our client seeks a CPA with proven experience in inventory accounting, including managing returns to vendors and reconciling inventory across the general ledger and sub-ledger.

You will supervise five staff and report on inventory counts, drive weekly inventory reporting, and manage related intercompany and cash/transaction activities. Approximately 60% of duties focus on inventory functions.

Qualifications

• Certified CPA required with accounting leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of inventory concepts, including returns and count analysis.
• Experience reconciling GL Inventory to sub-ledger and generating reports for stakeholders.
• Ability to supervise and develop a team of five staff.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inventory accounting and returns to vendors.
• Reconcile General Ledger Inventory to sub-ledger and update inventory in the GL.
• Run weekly inventory reports and analyze physical counts.
• Manage inventory costs and revenue sharing processes.
• Oversee accounting for wireless transactions, cash cards and intercompany activities.

Job description

Our client is a large and prominent organization with its head office located in Burnaby. An excellent position exists for a CPA to function as an Accounting Manager. The successful candidate should have proven experience working with inventory concepts and will supervise five staff under them. You and your staff will be overseeing the accounting for the inventory including managing returns to Vendors, analyzing physical inventory counts and reporting the results to various stakeholders, reconciling General Ledger Inventory to the sub ledger, running weekly inventory reports, updating General Ledger inventory, managing inventory counts, managing average cost system in the sub ledger, analyzing inventory and managing the revenue sharing. You will also oversee accounting activities related to wireless phone transactions, cash cards, inter company transactions and miscellaneous transactions. Please note that approximately 60% of your duties will revolve around the inventory functions.
