Job summary

Welch LLP in Cornwall, Ontario is seeking Students in Accounts to assist with audits, tax returns, and basic financial statements. You will work under senior staff to prepare assurance engagement files and compilation papers, while developing CPA-focused experience in a growth-oriented environment.

We welcome applicants for multiple fall 2026 and early 2027 start dates, with a strong emphasis on communication, multi-tasking, and MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications

• Completion of post-secondary diploma or certificate in accounting or business
• Registered or to be registered with CPA Ontario as a student in taxation/assurance
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Bilingual English and French is a strong asset
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
• Strong MS Office knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Responsibilities

• Prepare notice to reader engagements and participate in audits
• Prepare compilation engagement working papers
• Prepare basic financial statements as part of working papers
• Prepare basic corporate and personal tax returns
• Summarize client financial information in accounting packages or spreadsheets
• Support senior staff with engagement files and reviews
