Job summary

TransX Ltd. is seeking an Accounting Specialist – Level 2 to join the Yield & Financial Planning team in Winnipeg. You will support monthly statements, asset management, and cost control, providing insights to divisions and management.

The role requires 4–6 years of accounting experience, a bachelor’s degree, and progression toward CPA. You will collaborate across departments and may assume lead responsibilities during the Financial Supervisor’s absence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• CPA – Canada designation in progress (PEP) within 1–2 years.
• 4–6 years of accounting or financial analysis experience.
• Strong proficiency in accounting software (Great Plains, Vena, TMW, TMT).
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
• Knowledge of Canada/USA accounting policies and practices.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and allocate revenue/expenses; ensure correct postings in systems.
• Manage balances for major assets; liaise with CN and internal teams.
• Support month-end/year-end closings and detailed reporting.
• Lead training for Accounting Associates on systems; cover supervisory duties as needed.
