Job summary

MT Talent Solutions Inc. is seeking an Accounting Specialist for an in-office role in Burlington, ON. The successful candidate will manage AR activities, maintain customer records, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely cash flow.

The position requires 2+ years of AR experience, strong Excel and ERP skills, and the ability to work full-time in the office. Bilingual English/French is a plus, and Canada-based candidates are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of progressive Accounts Receivable experience; B2B receivables preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel.
• ERP experience; SAP experience is an asset.
• Bilingual English/French communication skills are considered an asset.
• Must be able to work fully in office Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

• Process customer payments in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Set up new customer accounts and pricing information.
• Maintain accurate customer master data.
• Manage customer account balances, ageing and collections; follow up on outstanding accounts.
• Review payment terms and adjust as required.
• Process credit card and debit payments.
• Prepare and process AR bank deposits.
• Complete bank reconciliations and issue debit/credit notes.
• Serve as a primary contact for AR inquiries.
• Investigate and resolve AR discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Document and address outstanding AR discrepancies; support process improvements.
• Assist with month-end close activities and annual audit documentation.

This position is ideal for an accounting professional with a strong background in business-to-business Accounts Receivable who enjoys taking ownership of their work while interacting regularly with both internal and external stakeholders. You will play an important role in maintaining accurate customer accounts, managing collections and providing responsive, customer-focused support.

Here's What You Will Do:

• Process customer payments in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Set up new customer accounts, including applicable pricing information.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer master data.
• Independently manage customer account balances, ageing and collections, including following up on and resolving outstanding accounts.
• Review customer payment terms and make adjustments as required.
• Process credit card and debit payments.
• Prepare and process Accounts Receivable bank deposits.
• Complete bank reconciliations and issue debit and credit notes.
• Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external Accounts Receivable inquiries.
• Investigate and resolve account discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
• Document, address and follow through on outstanding A/R discrepancies.
• Develop process documentation and contribute to ongoing process improvements.
• Support the Finance team with month-end close activities.
• Assist with preparing information and documentation for the annual financial audit.
• Complete additional accounting and finance responsibilities as required.

Here's what we’re looking for:

• 2+ years of progressive Accounts Receivable experience. Business-to-business receivables is preferred.
• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance or similar area of study.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office including full proficiency with Excel.
• ERP experience; SAP experience is considered an asset.
• Bilingual English/French communication skills are considered an asset.
• Strong attention to detail with demonstrated accuracy when preparing and entering financial information.
• Excellent organizational, planning and time-management skills.
• Strong customer-service orientation with the ability to communicate sensitively, tactfully and professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to learn quickly, adapt and take ownership of responsibilities.
• A collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to the overall success of the Finance team.
• Must be able to work fully in office Monday to Friday.
