Job summary

Intact in Canada is seeking an Accounting Service Representative for a 6-month opportunity, either as an internal secondment or external contract. This role focuses on processing payments, bank deposits, and reconciliation within our accounting system, supporting accurate financial operations.

You will bring a college diploma or equivalent experience, at least 1 year in a similar role, and strong communication and data-entry skills. Eligible applicants in Canada are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• College Diploma or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
• At least 1 year experience in a similar role.
• Previous Halcion or Contact Billing experience (asset).
• Can consistently perform with high accuracy and work volume.
• Effective communications skills with an emphasis on customer service.

Responsibilities

• Accurately process and verify payments received, reconcile bank deposits, and verify deposit totals.
• Prepare payments for the automated chequing system.
• Record and post any manual payments in the registered accounting system.
• Prepare, compile, reports, and cheques.
• Review and resolve daily cash reports, correct and adjust journal entries, and process cheque requisition.
• Verify and post banking information, amend payment schedules, and process premium refunds for accounts.
• Reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Review daily cash reports and process cheque requisitions.
• Analyse and resolve exception payment reports.
• Address outstanding issues related to payments, disbursements, billing arrangements, payment methods, and account discrepancies.

Salary for the candidate

will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented below is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

About The Role

What You Will Bring

• College Diploma or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
• At least 1 year experience in a similar role.
• Previous Halcion or Contact Billing experience (asset).
• Can consistently perform at a superior level with respect to both the accuracy and volume of work completed.
• Effective communications skills with an emphasis on customer service.
• Strong computer skills or training with standard office applications including strong data entry skills.
• No Canadian work experience required, however must be eligible to work in Canada.
