Job summary

CRH seeks an Accounting Manager to lead financial reporting from our Oakville corporate office. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will own general ledger integrity, month-end close, and SOX compliance support.

This on-site role requires a CPA or CPA candidate, a Bachelor's in accounting, 5+ years in manufacturing accounting, and strong Excel proficiency. You will mentor staff and partner with tax and audit teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting and CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in general accounting/finance, including cost accounting.
• Manufacturing accounting experience is a plus.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Maintain understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
• Perform and ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end closings.
• Track and maintain fixed asset and leasing schedules.
• Oversee lease tracking and ensure accurate lease accounting.
• Ensure balance sheet reconciliations and monthly reporting are completed accurately and timely.
• Review and approve Sales Tax Remittances (GST/HST/QST).
• Assist in gathering Canadian financial information for the CRH Tax Team for annual income tax returns, transfer pricing and CRA audits.
• Coordinate information requests related to internal audits of Canadian operations.
• Manage staff accountant, providing training and development where necessary.
• Other duties as needed.
