Job summary

IFG - International Financial Group is partnering with a well-established manufacturing organization in Vaughan to recruit an experienced accounting professional.

This full-time, permanent role offers a hybrid work model (3 days in office), bonus, benefits, RRSP matching, and more. You will own the full month-end close for the plant, perform cost accounting and inventory analysis, and support budgeting and forecasting with ERP systems and advanced Excel.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in manufacturing.
• Strong costing experience: standard costing, inventory accounting, variances, allocations.
• Experience partnering with Operations and Plant Leadership.
• Knowledge of month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting.
• Advanced Excel for large datasets and reporting.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage full month-end close for the manufacturing plant, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations and reporting.
• Perform cost accounting activities: inventory analysis, standard costing, variances, production reporting.
• Partner with Plant Managers and Operations to analyze financial results and provide recommendations.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, capex tracking and ongoing planning initiatives.
• Maintain inventory accounting, fixed assets and intercompany reconciliations.
• Analyze manufacturing data using advanced Excel to identify trends and improve reporting.
• Collaborate with shared service teams to resolve inventory, AP and GRIR/GRNI issues and ensure timely reconciliations.
• Drive continuous process improvements via ERP systems and stronger financial controls.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full month-end close process for the manufacturing plant, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting.


• Perform cost accounting activities, including inventory analysis, standard costing, manufacturing variance analysis, and production reporting.


• Partner with Plant Managers and Operations teams to analyze financial results, investigate variances, and provide actionable recommendations.


• Support budgeting, forecasting, capital expenditure tracking, and ongoing financial planning initiatives.


• Maintain inventory accounting, fixed asset records, and intercompany reconciliations while ensuring the accuracy of financial data.


• Analyze manufacturing and operational data using advanced Excel to identify trends, improve reporting, and support business decisions.


• Collaborate with shared service teams to resolve inventory, AP, and GRIR/GRNI-related issues and ensure timely reconciliations.


• Drive continuous process improvements by leveraging ERP systems and supporting efficient financial controls across plant operations.

Qualifications & Must-Haves

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.


• Strong costing experience, including standard costing, inventory accounting, manufacturing variances, and cost allocations.


• Experience supporting plant operations and partnering with Operations and Plant Leadership.


• Strong knowledge of month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and balance sheet reconciliations.


• Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze large datasets and build meaningful financial reports.


• Experience working with ERP systems.


• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
