Job summary

HGA Group in Alberta is seeking a full-time Manager to join the Senior Accounting team as a trusted liaison between partners and clients, reviewing client files and providing technical leadership on complex engagements.

You will mentor junior staff, oversee staff accountants, manage engagement costs, and contribute to tax planning and corporate reorganization efforts while maintaining high service standards for a diverse client portfolio.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant field.
• CA or CPA designation with a minimum of 5 years public practice experience.
• Comprehensive experience in compilation and review preparation.
• Experience leading and supervising staff.

Responsibilities

• Supervising the preparation of financial statements for business clients and reviewing work of Staff Accountants.
• Overseeing compilation and review engagements to maintain high quality control.
• Reviewing corporate, personal and trust tax returns and other forms.
• Investigating and correcting discrepancies in financial entries and reports.
• Providing tax planning recommendations for individuals and corporations.
• Assisting with corporate reorganizations and engagement cost management.
• Mentoring and supporting the professional development of staff accountants.
• Managing a portfolio of clients and growing relationships and accounts.
