The HGA Group is seeking a Senior Designated Accountant to deliver a range of public accounting services for diverse clients in Alberta. You will review work prepared by Staff Accountants, supervise engagements, and help guide strategic financial planning and tax matters.

Ideal candidates bring CPA designation and 3–5 years of public practice experience, with strong GAAP knowledge, ASPE familiarity, and proficiency in CaseWare, Profile, and QuickBooks Online.

Qualifications

• CA or CPA designation with 3–5 years public practice experience dealing with accounting and taxation needs of private companies
• Undergraduate degree in a relevant field (B.Com., B.BA., etc.)
• Comprehensive experience in compilation and review preparation

Responsibilities

• Prepare Compilation, Review and Audit engagements.
• Prepare and review working papers for financial statements, tax returns, year-end closing and government reporting.
• Lead and supervise staff; manage client portfolios and complex engagements.
• Provide financial and strategic planning advice and maintain positive client relationships.
