Job description

Director, Recruitment Services - Finance and Accounting

About the Opportunity

  • Accountable to the Director for managing the accounts payable and payroll teams, along with carrying out financial reporting accountabilities by providing analytical support.
  • Responsible for the general ledger of The Company and its affiliated corporations to ensure financial records are suitable for internal reporting, funder reporting, and the preparation of financial statements.
  • Supervises and provides leadership to the accounts payable team, including identifying and implementing measures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provides leadership to the payroll team, ensuring compliance with all reporting requirements in a timely manner. Implementation of process improvements is also critical in this function.
  • This position involves handling confidential information regarding staff, clients, financial, and management matters, which must be held with the highest level of confidentiality.

About You

  • 8+ years of experience in financial accounting, including general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, and financial statement preparation.
  • Excellent spreadsheet and word processing skills.
  • Effective communication skills at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to prioritize and respond to urgent situations while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to fulfill the physical and physiological demands of the job.
  • Experience in the not-for-profit sector is an asset.
  • Knowledge of SAGE accounting software is an asset.
