POSITION: Accounting Manager
STATUS: Permanent – Full-time
LOCATION:Westmount, Montreal
REPORTS TO:Corporate Controller

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking an efficient, detail-oriented and collaborative Accounting Manager to join our Accounting Team. Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, this role will be integral in managing all aspects of the full accounting lifecycle, ensuring accurate financial reporting, leading a small team and coordinating with external auditors.

KEY RESPONSABILITIES:

• Lead a small team of accountants and accounting technicians, and oversee daily operations of the accounting department, including A/P, A/R, cash receipts, general ledger, and payroll.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes, general ledger maintenance, and reconciliations.
• Oversee the preparation of accurate monthly financial reports, budget variance analyses and financial statements before presenting to the Corporate Controller.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly sales tax declarations.
• Initiate and execute software and process improvements.
• Assist with annual budget and forecast preparation.
• Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Assist in annual tax filings and compliance requirement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 4-6 years of overall accounting experience, with at least 1-2 years in a managerial role (Corporate Accountant, Accounting Manager, or similar). Big 4 accounting firm or investment industry experience is an asset.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA designation is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and ASPE standards.
• Experience creating financial statements and in using a full scope ERP system(s); experience with Sage Intacct is an asset.
• Experience with multi-entity organizational structures is required; investment accounting experience is an asset.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite software, and experience with Gen AI tools (i.e., CoPilot) is an asset.
• Experience with payroll is an asset.
