Real Fruit Bubble Tea Inc., a Canadian-owned retailer with over 140 locations, is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager in Markham, Ontario. You will oversee full-cycle accounting, ensure accuracy of financial records, and support budgeting, planning, and tax compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; accounting/finance education required or equivalent.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong full-cycle accounting experience and financial reporting skills.
• Experience with budgeting/financial planning and adjusting entries.
• Knowledge of Canadian taxes; USA tax knowledge is a plus.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online is an asset; advanced Excel skills required.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting: AP, AR, GL, month/year-end close.
• Prepare accurate financial records and reports.
• Assist with financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting.
• Prepare and review adjusting journal entries.
• Balance sheet reconciliations and data accuracy checks.
• Support cash flow management and financial analysis.
• Assist with tax planning and compliance activities.

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our team. This role will oversee full-cycle accounting responsibilities while supporting financial reporting, planning, compliance, and business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and month-end/year-end closing activities;
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and accounting reports;
• Assist with financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning;
• Prepare and review adjusting journal entries;
• Perform Balance Sheet account reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial data;
• Support cash flow management and financial analysis;
• Assist with tax planning and compliance activities.

Tax Compliance

• Maintain knowledge and understanding of Provincial and Federal sales tax requirements;
• Support compliance with Canadian tax obligations and USA tax requirements;
• Work with internal and external partners to ensure accurate and timely tax filings.

Shareholder & Corporate Accounting

• Maintain accounting records related to shareholders, including shareholder draws and dividends;
• Support reporting and documentation related to ownership transactions;
• Ensure accuracy and compliance of shareholder-related accounting activities.

Systems & Process Improvement

• Utilize QuickBooks Online to manage accounting processes and reporting;
• Develop and maintain advanced spreadsheet tools for financial analysis and reporting;
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred;
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience;
• Strong full-cycle accounting experience;
• Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and financial planning;
• Strong understanding of adjusting entries and Balance Sheet reconciliations;
• Experience supporting shareholder accounting, including draws and dividends;
• Knowledge of Canadian Provincial and Federal sales taxes;
• Familiarity with USA tax requirements is an asset;
• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail;
• Advanced Microsoft Excel/spreadsheet skills;
• Experience with QuickBooks Online is an asset;
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
