Job summary

Elby Professional Recruitment is assisting a manufacturing client in Ontario to fill an Accounting Manager role. CPA with manufacturing experience will own the accounting function and provide technical oversight across the team.

You will lead month-end close, financial reporting, inventory and job costing, while strengthening internal controls and systems. This is a high-impact role within a growing organization that values hands-on ownership and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• CPA designation required; will consider those in final steps with strong manufacturing experience
• Manufacturing experience strongly preferred; public accounting with manufacturing clients considered an asset
• Experience leading or supervising a finance team and implementing controls improvements
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and technical oversight to the finance team, ensuring accuracy and strong internal controls.
• Oversee month-end close, financial reporting, inventory, and job costing.
• Review existing processes with a critical eye, identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement.
• Improve and develop processes to increase accuracy and efficiency across the finance function.
• Support the enhancement of financial systems, reporting, and internal controls as the organization grows.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement new processes and requirements.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical support to the accounting team.
• Support budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and other financial analysis as required.
• Act as a technical resource to the Finance team and provide insight to support business decisions.
