Job summary

Robertson & Company Ltd. is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead the finance team and oversee core accounting operations.

This role emphasizes technical accounting, hands-on leadership, and process improvement in a fast-paced global setting. The ideal candidate will manage monthly closes, drive accurate financial reporting, and mentor accounting professionals while partnering with the Controller and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• CPA designation strongly preferred.
• 4–10 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge; experience with U.S. GAAP is an asset.
• Previous experience leading, managing, or mentoring accounting professionals.
• Experience with a sophisticated ERP system.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with stakeholders.
• Hands-on leadership style and ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly and quarterly financial close processes and ensure timely, accurate reporting.
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting documentation.
• Oversee balance sheet analysis and resolution of reconciling items.
• Manage workflow and priorities across the accounting team to meet reporting deadlines.
• Oversee reconciliations, accruals, allocations, and account analysis.
• Support internal and external audits and coordinate information requests.
• Ensure compliance with policies, controls, and applicable reporting standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and internal controls.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals.

The successful candidate will oversee core accounting operations and play an important role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. What You’ll Be Responsible For

• Lead monthly and quarterly financial close processes and ensure timely, accurate reporting.
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting documentation.
• Oversee balance sheet analysis and resolution of reconciling items.
• Manage workflow and priorities across the accounting team to ensure reporting deadlines are consistently achieved.
• Oversee key accounting functions including reconciliations, accruals, allocations, and account analysis.
• Support internal and external audits and coordinate responses to information requests.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and applicable financial reporting standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and overall efficiency.
• Support accounting systems, reporting tools, and process improvement initiatives.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to team members.
• Partner with the Controller and other internal stakeholders on accounting and financial matters.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• CPA designation strongly preferred.
• Approximately 4–10 years of progressive accounting experience, with a combination of public accounting and/or industry experience welcomed.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge; experience with U.S. GAAP is an asset.
• Previous experience leading, managing, or mentoring accounting professionals.
• Strong understanding of financial close, reconciliations, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience with sophisticated ERP system.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with both finance and operational stakeholders.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment.
• A hands‑on leadership style and willingness to roll up your sleeves when needed.
