Job summary

King Mazda Limited, part of Steele Auto Group, in Saint John, NB, is seeking an Accounting Clerk to support daily accounting operations across New Brunswick locations. You will post and reconcile transactions, manage accounts payable and receivable, and assist with journal entries in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.

The role offers an hourly wage range of CAD 22.90–27.10, commensurate with experience. Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of Canadian accounting experience, strong Excel

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of accounting experience in a Canadian business environment.
• Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, including debits and credits.
• Experience in AP and/or AR.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Automotive or dealership experience is an asset, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support daily accounting operations across multiple Steele Auto Group dealerships in New Brunswick.
• Post and reconcile financial transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Complete daily cash reporting and bank reconciliations.
• Post and balance vehicle deals.
• Prepare journal entries and assist with general ledger reconciliations.
• Support inventory controls and internal financial checks.
• Work in line with SOPs and defined processes for daily tasks.
• Collaborate with Controllers and dealership teams to ensure timely, accurate financial information.

As an Accounting Clerk at King Mazda, you'll play an important role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations while supporting a fast-paced and collaborative environment dedicated to delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Compensation:
Hourly Wage Range: $22.90 - $27.10
(Commensurate with experience, skills, and knowledge)

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Supporting daily accounting operations across multiple Steele Auto Group dealerships in New Brunswick
• Posting and reconciling financial transactions accurately and efficiently
• Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Completing daily cash reporting and bank reconciliations
• Posting and balancing vehicle deals
• Preparing journal entries and assisting with general ledger reconciliations
• Supporting inventory controls and internal financial checks
• Working in line with SOP's and defined processes when completing daily required tasks
• Working closely with Controllers and dealership teams to ensure timely, accurate financial information

What You Bring to the Table:

• Minimum 1 year of accounting experience in a Canadian business environment
• Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, including debits and credits
• Experience in AP and/or AR
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Experience with computerized accounting systems
• Automotive or dealership experience is an asset, but not required
• A team-first mindset with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines
