Job Title : Accounting Clerk (1-Year Maternity Leave Contract)

Job Requirements :

Successful candidates will work well in a team setting but will be extremely self-motivated and driven. Applicants must have 2 years of experience in an accounting role. Preference will be given to applicants with prior dealership experience.

Candidates must have strong interpersonal and phone skills, as well as proficiency in learning new software. Organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for this position.

Position Overview :

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounts Receivable / Payable Clerk to join our team on a 1-year maternity leave contract. This full-time role requires a 44-hour work week and is ideal for someone with strong accounting skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to thrive in a busy dealership environment.

Key Responsibilities :

  1. Invoice Management : Process incoming supplier invoices and generate customer invoices accurately and on time.
  2. Payment Handling : Manage outgoing payments to vendors and apply incoming payments from customers across various channels.
  3. Account Reconciliation : Reconcile AP / AR transactions regularly to ensure accurate financial records and resolve discrepancies.
  4. Customer and Vendor Relations : Maintain positive relationships by addressing inquiries, resolving billing issues, and ensuring timely collections and payments.
  5. Reporting and Compliance : Prepare financial reports (e.g., aging summaries), support month-end close, and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Qualifications :

  1. Previous experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role (automotive industry experience is an asset)
  2. Solid understanding of accounts payable and receivable procedures
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with dealership management systems is an advantage
  4. High attention to detail and a strong sense of accuracy
  5. Excellent time management and organizational skills
  6. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities

Please Note :
