Job summary

JBS Food Canada Inc. in Belleville, Ontario is seeking an Accounting Assistant on a temporary 6-month assignment to support GAAP-based financial operations.

You will assist with financial statements, reconciliations, and period-end tasks, reporting to the Controller and coordinating with production and supply chain teams. The role requires a college diploma or university degree in business or accounting, strong Excel skills, and good communication.

Qualifications

• College diploma or University degree in business or accounting, and/or 1-3 years of related accounting experience.
• Excellent oral communication and customer service skills with attention to detail in accounting.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of SAP accounting software an asset but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Junior Accountant, Senior Accountant and Controller with preparing financials.
• Reconcile monthly general ledger accounts.
• Support period end files and standard/ad hoc management reports.
• Provide yield performance analyses to inform production decisions.
