Job summary

AltaGas Ltd. is seeking a motivated accounting professional to join our Corporate Accounting team during an exciting period of transformation. This role supports day-to-day financial activities and helps ensure accurate reporting as we roll out a major ERP implementation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 2–5 years of relevant accounting or finance experience; corporate accounting experience preferred.
• Solid understanding of core accounting principles; working knowledge of US GAAP is an asset but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Comfortable working in a changing environment with evolving responsibilities.
• ERP experience (Oracle, SAP, JDE) is an asset.
• CPA designation or in progress preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end and quarter-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Assist with balance sheet and income statement analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Support financial reporting and internal management reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and respond to ad hoc. requests.
• Help maintain strong documentation, controls, and audit readiness.
• Provide flexible coverage across accounting processes as priorities shift.
