Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the account payables and receivables procedures
  • Prepare assigned month end accounting entries, including the supporting calculations and analysis
  • Support in the preparation and delivery of monthly reporting
  • Assist with the annual budget process and tracking performance against budget
  • Assist in analyzing profitability for lines of business and customer projects
  • Learn and test new functions in software used by the Accounting & Finance team (e.g. QuickBooks, Journyx, Salesforce)
  • Use Power BI tools to turn data into insights and help track financial and operational metrics
  • Analyze processes across the company plus recommend and implement improvements
  • Complete ad-hoc financial analysis and business projects to support all areas of the business

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled 3rd or 4th year of a 4-year business program and registered in the university’s co-op program
  • Interested in pursuing a career in accounting or finance
  • Energetic, self-motivated and curious – you go the extra step to move projects forward and ask lots of questions
  • Proven ability to learn new software applications quickly
  • Intermediate or higher Excel skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
