Doane Grant Thornton LLP, based in Duncan, BC, is seeking an Accountant in the Privately Held Business Group to provide client-ready accounting services. You will plan engagements, perform bookkeeping, prepare financial statements, and handle tax returns, with opportunities to grow professionally.

Qualificações

• Accounting certificate, diploma or equivalent practical experience.
• 1–3 years accounting experience, preferably in public practice.
• Experience with QuickBooks is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Provide recommendations for clients.
• Plan and execute client engagements.
• Bookkeeping preparation and posting of client transactions.
• Prepare financial statements with notice to reader engagements.
• Prepare adjusting journal entries.
• Reconcile bank accounts, A/P, A/R, and payroll.
• Prepare personal, corporate, partnership and GST returns.
• Assist privately held business clients with day-to-day accounting queries.
• Complete additional ad-hoc duties as required.

As an Accountant, Privately Held Business Group your responsibilities will include:

• Provide recommendations for our clients
• Plan and execute client engagements
• Bookkeeping preparation and posting of client transactions
• Planning and execution of notice to reader engagements, including preparation of financial statements
• Preparing adjusting journal entries
• Performing reconciliations of bank accounts, accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Performing reconciliations of payroll
• Preparing personal and corporate tax returns, partnership returns, trust returns and GST returns
• Assisting a broad range of privately held business clients with day to day accounting queries
• Completing additional ad-hoc duties or assignments as required

• An accounting certificate, diploma or equivalent practical experience (we can also support those who are in the CPA program, or intend to in the future).
• 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in public practice

Our salary ranges are reviewed annually, and where you land within the range depends on a mix of factors—your background, your skills, and how your contributions align with internal equity. To help start the conversation, the current salary range for this role is $52,000–$62,000 in Duncan, BC. If the role is available in other locations, the range may differ to reflect local market factors. Our special culture shines through when we have the opportunity to connect in person. That’s why we’re working in a model where teams are required to be together in the office 4 days per week.
