Job summary

Doane Grant Thornton LLP in Kamloops is seeking a Senior Accountant [Audit] to join our growing practice and deliver audits, reviews and compilations across industries. You will mentor junior staff, prepare tax returns, and contribute to client service and relationships.

We offer profit sharing, flex days, RRSP contributions, firm-wide holiday closure, wellness benefits, concierge-like benefits, and a summer remote option to work anywhere in Canada for 4 weeks.

Qualifications

• Completed post-secondary degree/diploma.
• CPA accreditation (or near completion).
• Minimum 2 years of public practice audit experience.
• Strong technical expertise in audit, accounting and tax.
• Experienced in tax return preparation.
• Strong focus on exceptional client service and relationships.
• Strong planning and time management skills.
• Proven ability to develop and present new ideas and solutions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Mentoring and coaching junior team members is an asset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with MS Office and accounting software (CaseWare, TaxPrep, Sage, QuickBooks).

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with colleagues to deliver exceptional service to clients under varying reporting frameworks across different industries and sectors.
• Providing clients with recommendations and solutions on current business and financial conditions.
• Planning, preparing and executing financial statement audits, reviews and compilations, including budget and resource requirements.
• Preparing various types of tax returns and responding to CRA requests for information.
• Contributing to the building of our reputation as the preferred business advisors in key sectors of our growing practice.
• Supervising, coaching and providing timely feedback to junior engagement team members on diverse engagements.
• Other duties as required.

To help start the conversation, the current salary range for this role is $57,500-$83,200 in Kamloops. If the role is available in other locations, the range may differ to reflect local market factors.
