The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) is the statutory body responsible for regulating Ontario’s capital markets in accordance with the provincial Securities Act and the Commodity Futures Act. Its mandate is to protect investors from unfair, improper, or fraudulent practices, foster fair, efficient, and competitive capital markets, and contribute to financial stability and systemic risk reduction. This is achieved through policy, operational, and enforcement activities, with contributions to national and global securities regulation development.

The Registration, Inspections & Examinations (RIE) Branch is seeking an Accountant II to join our team. RIE oversees crypto-asset trading platforms, dealers, advisers, and investment fund managers, ensuring public confidence in securities investments. Using a risk-based approach, RIE handles registration and compliance reviews of registered firms and oversees market infrastructure entities, including marketplaces, SROs, and clearing agencies. The branch comprises multidisciplinary teams including professionals (accountants and lawyers), registration officers, and support staff.
