As we grow, we’re looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to join our team and support our financial operations.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Controller, the Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting activities, assisting with month-end processes, and ensuring accuracy in financial reporting. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow within a fast-paced construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform full-cycle accounting and maintain general ledger
• Prepare journal entries, bank reconciliations, and monthly financial statements
• Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and timely payments
• Assist with budgeting, job costing, and variance analysis
• Support payroll processing and government remittances (WSIB, HST, EHT, etc.)
• Liaise with external accountants and auditors as required
• Maintain organized financial records and documentation
• Contribute to continuous improvement of accounting systems and processes
  
  

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in a similar accounting role (construction industry experience is a strong asset)
• Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, Jonas, or similar preferred)
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Knowledge of Canadian tax laws, payroll, and construction billing practices is an asset
