Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Corporate Finance team. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate and timely financial reporting across our U.S. and Canadian entities. Reporting to the VP of Accounting and Finance with access to the CFO, the Staff Accountant will support core accounting functions including monthly close, financial reporting, government compliance, and technical accounting research.

This is an exciting opportunity for an accounting professional to broaden cross-border experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Experience with U.S. and Canadian accounting regulations is highly valued.

Based in Canada, preferably near our Montreal office, with a hybrid (Montreal office/remote) setup preferred. Fully remote is negotiable.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assist with the monthly close process
2. Support order processing, sales operations, AR, and AP functions, ensuring proper transaction coding, contract review, and compliance with policies
3. Help with Canadian provincial sales tax filings
4. Assist in year-end audit processes
5. Provide financial and operational analysis for leadership and participate in benchmarking projects
6. Support the implementation of new financial tools and technologies
7. Provide backup support within Finance and HR teams as needed
8. Perform other duties as required

Requirements and Experience

1. BA/BS in Accounting or equivalent experience
2. 3-5 years of accounting experience, with increasing responsibility; Big 4 audit experience is a plus
3. Strong understanding of US GAAP
4. Technical research experience
5. Proficiency in Excel, NetSuite, and Salesforce is desirable
6. Excellent written and oral communication skills
7. Hands-on experience in accounting
8. Ability to work independently
9. Self-disciplined with strong business acumen and team-oriented mindset
10. Bilingual in French and English
