Job Description

Our client in the not-for-profit sector is seeking a progressive Accountant to join their team, reporting to the Accounting Manager. This role supports daily financial operations, collaborates across departments, and involves preparing financial reports, assisting with budgets and forecasts, managing reconciliations, and supporting tax and audit processes. Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements, including variance analysis
• Develop projections, forecasts, and supporting documentation
• Support the annual budgeting process and develop detailed budgets
• Generate and distribute Management Accountability Reports
• Provide accounting support including journal entries and analysis
• Prepare and file tax returns (GST, HST, PST)
• Reconcile bank and financial accounts regularly
• Assist budget managers and collaborate with the accounting manager
• Maintain the budget authority listing
• Respond to client inquiries and resolve financial issues
• Support accounts payable, receivable, and weekly cheque processing
• Assist with billing and customer inquiries
• Maintain digital accounting forms

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing CPA designation
• Minimum 2 years of full-cycle accounting experience, including budgeting
• Experience in not-for-profit sector is an asset
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
