Account Manager - Coatings - Specialty Chemicals

Our client, a global leader in the supply of specialty chemicals, requires an experienced chemical industry sales professional. The successful candidate will manage sales activities of chemical raw materials including resins, pigments, and additives to paint and coatings, adhesive, sealant manufacturers, and other industrial applications in a territory based in Toronto, Ontario. This is a home office-based position, and the successful candidate must reside in the Greater Toronto Area.

Responsibilities
  • Grow revenue and profit from an existing base of business while generating new leads and closing new sales of specialty chemical raw materials used to make paints, coatings, adhesives, sealants (CASE), and other industrial applications.
  • Develop successful relationships across multiple levels in the customer's organization, with an emphasis on R&D and formulations personnel.
  • Manage all pricing, sales agreements, and contracts.
  • Create sales reports and manage all customer information via the CRM system.
  • Develop account plans and coordinate sales activities with other company team members and management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree; Chemistry or related science major preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience selling chemical raw materials such as resins, additives, pigments into coatings, adhesive, sealants applications.
  • Prior chemical distribution sales experience is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in identifying and closing target accounts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, along with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel within the assigned territory as required.
