Job summary

Deswik Mining Consultants in Vancouver seeks an Account Manager to oversee and grow Deswik's North American customer base. The role requires a mining engineer or geologist, with 5+ years in mining and sales or stakeholder management.

Job description

As an Account Manager with Deswik, you will leverage your extensive mine planning experience to oversee and grow Deswik's regional customer base across North America.

Department | Sales and Business Development

• Oversee and grow Deswik's regional customer base
• Flexible, hybrid schedule: 2 days from home, 3 days in the office
• Apply your skills as a Mining Engineer or Geologist in a unique way

Given Deswik’s global reach, this role will require approximately 30% travel.

What You Will Do:

• Develop new business, manage current accounts, draft proposals and negotiate contracts
• Build collaborative relationships with customer stakeholders, including frontline site teams, general managers, and corporate executives
• Support the planning and delivery of high-quality software implementations and consulting services
• Innovate in applying Deswik technology to solve complex mining problems
• Exceed customer expectations by delivering increased value from existing investments and building genuine partnerships
• Manage customer relationships professionally, addressing any issues or concerns promptly

About You:

• Degree-qualified in Mining Engineering or Geology
• 5+ years’ experience in the mining industry, holding technical or operational positions
• Solid understanding of site operations, and knows what it takes to get things done on site
• Deep understanding of mining engineering and mining technical problems
• You have held previous sales or customer/stakeholder management roles and dealt with commercial negotiations
• Skilled in assembling people, technology, and processes to create mine planning systems
• Strong influencing skills, capable of supporting change management in large organizations and delivering value through your people skills
• You have a restless desire for things to be done better
• In your work, you use both EQ and IQ to solve problems and are known for doing what you say you will do
• You are great with technology and will become literate in the use of Deswik tools.
• Fluency with Deswik tools is a distinct advantage.

• A competitive base salary between CAD 130,000 – CAD200,000 (dependent on skills and experience) + eligibility for annual performance bonus
