Job summary

An insurance company located in Vaughan, Ontario, is seeking a Claims Handler with at least 2-3 years of claims handling experience. The successful candidate will investigate and settle accident benefit claims, requiring strong negotiation and customer service skills. Excellent communication, decision-making, and organizational abilities are essential. The role also involves handling various claims files and participating in legal proceedings. Position Details
What You Will Do
  • Investigation, evaluation, negotiation and settlement and administration of all accident benefit claims
  • Handle MIG and non-MIG files up to the point of CAT
  • Assign Defence Counsel and participate in all aspects of LAT proceeding including assignment of legal, attend Case Conferences and Hearings

Salary range is not inclusive of total compensation. The expected salary range for this position will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are encouraged to apply.

What You Have
  • Minimum of 2-3 years claims handling experience
  • Well-honed negotiation skills
  • Through knowledge of the legislation that governs these benefits (SABS)
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and oral
  • Strong organizational and time management skills coupled with strong decision-making skills
  • Post-secondary education in a related field, and/or working towards CIP designation would be preferred
