Job description

We are looking for an Accessories Certification Engineer (ACC), reporting to the Certification Team Leader. This role involves supporting the implementation of our certification strategies and ensuring regulatory coordination between various internal and external stakeholders. In this stimulating role, where theory meets real-world practice and action, you will play a key role in translating complex regulatory requirements into concrete applications for our accessory lines (ACC). This is far from a purely administrative role. You will be at the heart of innovation and validation. Responsibilities range from defining compliance strategies to participating in laboratory testing campaigns, whether in-house or with our partners. You will support design engineers, project managers, and our global suppliers throughout the certification process for our products.

You’ll Have The Opportunity To
  • Define the strategic direction for certification: develop the accreditation process for accessories at the start of projects, relying on the list of applicable standards provided by the compliance team to operationalize them and integrate these criteria into technical specifications.
  • Support, train, and simplify: decode and convert complex regulatory frameworks (electrical, mechanical, and chemical) into intelligible instructions to guide designers and suppliers toward regulatory alignment and the preparation of documentation.
  • Validate and analyze supporting documentation: target the necessary test protocols, whether within our laboratories or at our certified partners, and carr rigorous review of supporting documentation, including test reports, certificates, formal declarations, and markings, is conducted.
  • Manage the accreditation lifecycle: ensure ongoing monitoring and coordinate the proactive renewal of regulatory certifications across all our target markets.
  • Measure the impact of regulatory changes: assess the operational and architectural implications resulting from the revision of requirements (as communicated by the compliance team) on component selection, design, and the test roadmap.
You’ll Thrive In This Role If You Have The Following Skills And Qualifications
  • An academic background and understanding of standards: a bachelor's degree or university diploma in engineering (mechanical, electrical, chemical, or a related field) combined with a strong ability to decode, interpret, and operationalize complex regulatory frameworks.
  • Versatility and a comprehensive technical perspective: solid multidisciplinary knowledge spanning electrical/electronic engineering (E/E systems), mechanical engineering, and chemistry, ideally applied to accessories in the vehicle and transportation industries.
  • The ability to simplify technical concepts and a knack for teaching: a recognized ability to translate theoretical regulatory requirements into practical, accessible, and concrete guidelines for design teams and external partners.
  • Interpersonal excellence and coordination skills: proven interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively and build bridges between various stakeholders (designers, project managers, procurement, testing laboratories, and suppliers).
  • Analytical rigour and organizational skills: meticulous attention to detail is required for analyzing certification files and test reports, combined with a high degree of autonomy in managing multiple projects simultaneously and ensuring the accreditation timeline is rigorously monitored.
  • The ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders outside Quebec or in English on a daily basis.
