Job summary

Northern Lights College is seeking a temporary, full-time instructor to deliver APN 136: Consolidated Practice Experience A. You will guide learners in applying theory to practice with aging or chronically ill clients in residential care settings.

The role covers preparation from Feb 8 to Instruction Feb 16–Mar 12, working 30 hours per week. A BC nursing license and Indigenous safety training are required, with a collaborative, evidence-based teaching approach.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Diploma in Practical Nursing or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, or another relevant undergraduate degree or professional qualification may be considered.
• Current practicing license as an LPN, RPN, RN or NP with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives with no limits or conditions.
• Minimum three to five years (full-time equivalent) of recent Canadian nursing experience.
• Completed course work in Indigenous cultural safety and humility.
• Ability to function effectively as a team member.
• Committed to student motivation and achievement.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

Responsibilities

• Deliver APN 136: Consolidated Practice Experience A.
• Provide clinical instruction to learners in residential care settings.
• Emphasize medication administration, nursing care, organization, health assessment, wound care, and leadership.
• Collaborate with the Health Sciences Department instructional team.
• Maintain an inquiry, reflection, and evidence-informed practice learning environment.
