Job summary

Stantec in Canada is seeking an early career AC Mitigation Engineer/Engineer in Training to join the Corrosion Prevention team. The role focuses on AC interference modeling and designing mitigation systems for pipelines and facilities.

Hybrid work options with potential remote for right candidate; preferred locations include Edmonton, Calgary, or Markham, with travel as needed. You'll perform calculations, reviews, and coordinate installation, while staying current with industry standards and

Qualifications

• University degree in electrical engineering with EMI/background preferred.
• Licensed P.Eng. or eligible to licensure; open to EIT/P.Eng. candidates.
• Experience with CDEGS or similar EMI grounding tools.

Responsibilities

• Model complex pipeline and powerline geometries using CDEGS.
• Design AC mitigation systems to reduce electrical shock risks.
• Review CP and AC interference reports and designs.
• Monitor and evaluate CP/AC interference systems.
• Coordinate installation of AC mitigation and CP systems.
• Prepare design drawings with drafting.
• Perform soil resistivity testing and field assessments.
• Develop technical reports and procedures.
• Stay updated with industry codes and best practices.
• Maintain client relationships and safety compliance.
