Job summary

Geneva Centre for Autism in Ontario is seeking an ABA Facilitator who supports behaviour intervention plans and teaches skills in homes, clinics, and community settings.

Under supervision of a Registered Behaviour Analyst, you will collect data, graph it, and help prepare reports while traveling across the GTA to support families. Applicants should have a post-secondary diploma in behavioural sciences or ABA with ASD experience.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma in Behavioural Sciences or ABA or related field.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a community-based role.
• Minimum 2 years working with children/youth and/or adults with ASD.
• Ability to travel across the GTA for core duties.
• Solid knowledge of ABA principles and data collection methods.
• Experience coaching parents/guardians and reporting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work within community-based service delivery systems.
• Vulnerable Sector and Criminal Records checks current.

Salary Range: $59,239.73 To $66,414.08 Annually

POSITION SUMMARY

Working with direction from a Registered Behaviour Analyst, The ABA Facilitator uses the Behavioural Skills Training model to teach caregivers and workers strategies outlined in a behaviour intervention plan for children and youth with ASD. Services will be provided in person at the Geneva Centre for Autism, in the home environment, and in the community.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES (but not limited to)

• Implement Behaviour Intervention and Skill-Based Teaching Plans written by RBA
• Support caregivers and workers in clinic, family homes and community settings using the Behavioural Skills Training Model
• Travel in community, provide service in family home or an appropriate identified community agency
• Collect data on behalf of the RBA and coach others to gather data, identifying barriers to gathering data and reporting back to the RBA
• Graph raw data for interpretation by the RBA
• Assist RBA to conduct Functional Assessments
• Assist RBA in generating summary reports
• Maintain accurate client records, submit expense reports, and other administrative components related to caseload and department needs
• Participate in team meetings, client meetings, and supervisions

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Post-secondary diploma from a recognized College in Behavioural Sciences, Applied Behaviour Analysis or other area of relevance
• A minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role (community based)
• A minimum of 2 years' experience working with children and youth and/or adults with ASD
• Ability to travel across the GTA to carry out core functions of the role
• Sound knowledge of ABA principles
• Experience coaching parents/guardians
• Knowledge of a variety of data collection procedures
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Good judgement and problem solving skills
• Applied knowledge of community-based service delivery systems with demonstrated ability to work within the community
• Experience working with Behavioural Skills Training model to implement and monitor individualized ABA-based intervention programs for children and youth diagnosed with ASD and/or dual diagnoses an asset
• Satisfactory current Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records Check

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Combination of work is on and off-site. Majority of work is off-site as per client requirements (client homes and community)
• Outside normal working hours to meet client needs when necessary
• Challenging client behaviours
• Use of Nonviolent Crisis Intervention strategies (Crisis Prevention Institute) (training is provided)
