Job summary

Sobeys in Canada is seeking a motivated team member to help maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the Central Kitchen and warehouse. You will support daily cleaning tasks, assist with cardboard recycling, and uphold safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

No prior experience is required, though power jack or warehouse experience is an asset; night shifts and weekend availability are required to support operations.

Job description

Ready to Make an impact? Ensures the cleanliness and appearance of the Central Kitchen. Fulfill all assigned duties in all areas of the Central Kitchen. Actively contributes to an environment of employee and customer engagement.

Here’s where you’ll be focusing:

• Ensure cleanliness and appearance of the warehouse, equipment, and surrounding properties in accordance with HACCP standards
• Sweeping, scrubbing floors, and emptying garbage
• Prepare and bale corrugated cardboard and plastic pallet wrap for recycling return
• Adhere and implement all applicable company safety standards
• Maintain MSDS Catalogues as required
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment as per company requirements
• All other duties as required

What you have to offer:

• Frequent lifting and carrying of up to 10 pounds.
• Occasional lifting and carrying of up to 40 pounds.
• Occasional standing, frequent walking.
• Constant reaching below shoulder level
• Occasional reaching above shoulder level
• Frequent use of floor sweepers and scrubbers
• Frequent bending and occasional twisting
• Rare lifting or carrying of up to 90 pounds including waist level and low-level lifts.
• Frequent walking, squatting
• Ability to handle a cool working environment of 1 to 4 degrees Celsius.
• No previous experience is required.
• Previous power jack or warehouse experience is an asset.
• Ability to work at a consistent pace throughout the day.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Highly motivated and team oriented.
• Works in a Safe and responsible manner
• Must be available to work night shifts and available for weekends.
