Job summary

Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited in Vernon, BC seeks a casual Third Cook to join a fast-paced kitchen. The successful candidate will properly prepare and present food, maintain a clean workspace, and support inventory and orders.

Requirements include a secondary school diploma (or 1 year related experience), safe food handling and knife skills, and the ability to obtain Category 2 Gaming Assistant registration with AGCO. Strong customer service and stamina are essential.

Qualifications

• A secondary school diploma or a minimum of one-year related work experience.
• Safe food handling course, knife handling skills.
• The ability to obtain registration as a Category 2 Gaming Assistant with the Alcohol and Gaming and Commission of Ontario.
• Proven high level of Customer Service.
• The ability to work and excel in a fast-paced large volume business.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in hot, cold and humid environments.

Responsibilities

• Proper preparation and presentation of food with strict adherence to food safety standards.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary and organized work space in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the requirements of the Board of Health
• Assist with inventory and putting orders away
• Perform all job duties in a safe and responsible manner
• Adhere to departmental quality standards
• Perform other related duties as assigned
