Job summary

Gateway Casinos in Ontario is seeking a Third Cook for a part-time role. The position offers growth within a major national company, with a benefits package and competitive salary for full-time employees, and opportunities for development and training.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or related experience, safe food handling certification, knife skills, and the ability to obtain the required gaming registration.

Qualifications

• Secondary school diploma or 1+ year related work experience.
• Safe food handling course and knife handling skills.
• Ability to obtain Category 2 Gaming Assistant registration with Ontario AGCO.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present food adhering to safety standards.
• Keep a clean, sanitary, organized workspace per health and safety laws.
• Assist with inventory and stock rotation.
• Perform duties safely and responsibly.
• Adhere to departmental quality standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

• Proper preparation and presentation of food with strict adherence to food safety standards.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary and organized work space in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the requirements of the Board of Health
• Assist with inventory and putting orders away
• Perform all job duties in a safe and responsible manner
• Adhere to departmental quality standards
• Perform other related duties as assigned

What You Bring

• A secondary school diploma or a minimum of one-year related work experience
• Safe food handling course, knife handling skills
• The ability to obtain registration as a Category 2 Gaming Assistant with the Alcohol and Gaming and Commission of Ontario
• Proven high level of Customer Service
• The ability to work and excel in a fast-paced large volume business
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work in hot, cold and humid environments
