Job summary

Brandt is seeking a 310T Truck & Coach Technician for our Windsor Peterbilt location. This role focuses on diagnostics, repair and maintenance of trucks, trailers, coaches, and buses in a shop environment, with emphasis on safety and quality work.

The ideal candidate is a certified Journeyperson in Truck & Coach, with experience in CAT, Cummins and PACCAR engines, electrical diagnosis, and the use of test equipment and parts catalogs.

Qualifications

• Certified Journeyperson in Truck & Coach trade or equivalent designation.
• Experience with CAT, Cummins and PACCAR engines is advantageous.
• Experience with electrical diagnosis and aftertreatment systems is advantageous.
• Previous mechanical shop experience is an asset.
• Strong commitment to customer service and service excellence.
• Ability to communicate with engineers, service team and branch personnel.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate working condition, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair on-road equipment.
• Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Use related instruments, hand and power tools, and computer systems.
• Document all machine information, actions, and time on work orders.
• Ensure safety and adherence to standards during service tasks.
• Document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis in systems.
• Locate parts from catalogs and order them from parts personnel.
• Road test equipment and verify attachment operation as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Brandt is currently seeking a 310T Truck & Coach Technician for our Windsor Peterbilt location. This position is responsible for the diagnostics, repair and maintenance of trucks, trailers, coaches, and buses in a shop environment.

What You Will Be Responsible For

• Efficiently and effectively evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair on road equipment
• Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
• Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
• Accurately and completely document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time taken
• Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards
• Use computer applications and information systems to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis
• Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel
• Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required
• Other duties as assigned

What We Look For

• Certified Journeyperson in the Truck and Coach technician trade or equivalent designated trade considered an asset
• Experience in CAT, CUMMINs and PACCAR engines considered an asset
• Experience with electrical diagnosis /troubleshooting and aftertreatment systems considered an asset
• Previous mechanical experience in a shop environment is considered an asset.
• Must be committed to customer service and service excellence
• Must have the ability to communicate and work effectively with equipment engineers, the service team, and branch personnel.
• Outstanding knowledge of mechanical & electrical systems
• Proven computer/ technical aptitude and knowledge for diagnostics and calibration work
• Demonstrated diagnostic skills to understand mechanical and technical equipment repair needs
• Strong time-management skills to perform effectively under pressure
• Strong communication skills, showing an appreciation of customer needs
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
