Express Employment Professionals Canada is seeking a 310T Truck & Coach Technician or Apprentice to join a well-established heavy truck and trailer repair operation in Hamilton. You will perform PM inspections, diagnose issues, and complete repairs across brakes, suspension, engine, and trailer systems in a modern shop.

Qualifications

  • Licensed 310T Truck & Coach Technician or registered 310T Apprentice.
  • Experience on heavy-duty trucks and trailers preferred.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities; safety-focused.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance (PM) inspections on heavy trucks and trailers.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools.
  • Complete repairs and adjustments on brakes, suspension, steering, drivetrain components.
  • Perform engine, transmission, and clutch repairs as required.
  • Repair trailers including wheel seals, lights, ABS, doors, floors, and structure.
  • Oil changes, lubrication, battery checks, and routine maintenance.
  • Emissions testing and ensure safety standards compliance.
  • Maintain service records and work orders; ensure work is safe and compliant.

Heavy Truck & Trailer Repair | Diagnostics | Preventative Maintenance

About The Opportunity

A well-established heavy truck and trailer repair facility is seeking a 310T Truck & Coach Technician or Apprentice Mechanic to join their growing team.

This is a long-standing, family-oriented operation with a strong reputation in the trucking and transportation industry. The shop is equipped with modern service bays and supports a wide range of fleet, commercial, and owner-operator repairs, with a strong focus on safety, quality workmanship, and dependable service.

This role is ideal for a licensed 310T Technician or a motivated apprentice looking to develop their skills in a structured, well-supported environment working on a wide variety of heavy-duty trucks and trailers.

Wage

$35.00 – $42.00 per hour (based on experience)
Up to $45.00 per hour for highly experienced licensed 310T technicians

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Perform preventative maintenance (PM) inspections on heavy trucks and trailers
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and troubleshooting methods
  • Complete repairs and adjustments on brake systems (air and hydraulic), suspension, steering, and drivetrain components
  • Perform engine, transmission, and clutch repairs as required
  • Conduct trailer repairs including wheel seals, lights, ABS systems, doors, floors, and structural components
  • Perform oil changes, lubrication services, battery checks, and routine maintenance
  • Complete emissions testing and ensure compliance with safety standards
  • Remove, replace, and adjust components such as brakes, fifth wheels, and related systems
  • Perform minor electrical repairs and wiring diagnostics
  • Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and inspection documentation
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to industry standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused shop environment
  • Work collaboratively with technicians, apprentices, and service team members to meet deadlines
What We’re Looking For
  • Licensed 310T Truck & Coach Technician OR registered 310T Apprentice
  • Previous experience working on heavy-duty trucks and trailers considered a strong asset
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities
  • Knowledge of diesel engines, air brake systems, hydraulics, and electrical systems
  • Mechanical aptitude with experience using hand tools and shop equipment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Welding or fabrication experience considered an asset
  • Valid driver’s license (DZ or AZ considered an asset)
  • Reliable, punctual, and strong work ethic
