Job summary

VicPriestlyContractingLtd. (VPCL) is seeking a skilled 310T Truck & Trailer Mechanic to join our maintenances team in Ontario. Based in our fully equipped shop, you will diagnose, repair and maintain diesel-powered tractors and semi-trailers to high safety and quality standards.

Eligible candidates have a 310T license, 5+ years in heavy-duty truck maintenance, and strong teamwork and communication. Travel to off-site locations may be required; overtime may apply.

Qualifications

• Licensed 310T technician with 5+ years in heavy/medium duty trucks.
• Experience with Hydrovac and Straight-vac trucks is preferred.
• Strong commitment to vehicle safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain and repair heavy trucks, trailers and related equipment.
• Perform preventative and unscheduled maintenance to keep equipment safe and reliable.
• Diagnose mechanical and electronic issues using manuals and diagnostic tools.
• Interpret work orders and repair procedures to complete tasks accurately.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and adhere to safety regulations.

PrimaryPurposeofPosition:

VicPriestlyContractingLtd.(VPCL)islookingforaskilledandexperienced310TTruck&TrailerMechanictobecomeakeypartofourdedicatedmaintenanceteam.BasedinourfullyequippedTruck&TrailerMechanicShop,youwillberesponsibleforperformingadvanceddiagnostics,repairs,andpreventativemaintenanceondiesel-poweredtractorsandsemi-trailers.Thisisagreatopportunitytoworkinasupportiveenvironmentwheresafety,qualityworkmanship,andprofessionalgrowtharetoppriorities.

JobDuties

• Performtroubleshooting,diagnostics,maintenance,andrepairsonheavytrucks,trailers,andrelatedequipment.
• Completepreventative,predictive,scheduled,andunscheduledmaintenancetoensureequipmentremainssafe,reliable,andoperational.
• Diagnosemechanicalandelectronicissuesusinginspections,roadtesting,anddiagnostictools,andcompleterepairstomanufacturerandgovernmentstandards.
• Interpretworkorders,technicalmanuals,andrepairprocedurestoaccuratelycompleteassignedtasks.
• Install,modify,andrepairvehiclecomponentsandadditionalequipmentasrequired.
• Conductinspectionsandquick-checkstoidentifyadditionalrepairneedsorpotentialfutureissuesandcommunicatefindingstomanagement.
• Repairorreplacedefectiveparts,components,andsystemsinatimelyandefficientmanner.
• Assistwithmonitoringpartsinventoryandorderingreplacementequipment,parts,andsuppliesasneeded.
• Accuratelycompleteworkorders,maintenancereports,andtimerecordselectronicallyoronpaper.
• Testrepairedequipmenttoverifyproperperformanceandcompliancewithsafetyandmanufacturerspecifications.
• Maintainacleanandsafeworkenvironmentwhileadheringtooccupationalhealthandsafetyregulations.
• Performotherrelatedmechanicaldutiesasrequired.

Requirements

• License Technician 310T.
• 5+ years of experience in the Medium / Heavy Duty truck or automotive industry.
• Experience with service and repair of Hydrovac and Straight-vac trucks.
• Strong understanding of product and technical knowledge.
• Must be a team player with a strong sense of commitment to vehicle safety.
• Must be self-motivated and have good written and verbal communication skills.
• Must conduct self in a professional manner.
• Have the ability to work other shifts for coverage of sick days or vacation relief.
• Have the ability to deal with large volumes of work and stressful situations.
• Lead, guide and mentor apprentices in the shop.
• Have a set of heavy duty mechanic tools.

Work Conditions

• Travel to off-site locations may be required.
• Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, etc.
