About the Position :

This 310T Licensed Mechanic / Technician ( T4 ) performs major and technically difficult diagnostics, repairs, and overhauls / rebuilds in a timely manner; ensuring quality, time standards, customer expectations, cost guidelines and reliability goals are met. The 310T Licensed Mechanic / Technician ( T4 ) works on assignments requiring considerable judgment and mentors other Ryder technicians on a regular basis. The 310T Licensed Mechanic / Technician ( T4 ) provides the highest level of experience and expertise in vehicle diagnostics and repair. The position also plays a key role in the leadership, development and training of other grade technicians. The 310T Licensed Mechanic / Technician ( T4 ) may specialize in areas such as : refrigeration, electronics, exhaust systems, etc., and should possess a combination of extensive vehicle transportation experience, ASE certifications, and / or multiple Ryder Qualifications.

Shifts : Sunday to Wednesday, 6 : 30am to 5 : 00pm;

Essential Functions

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties upon Tire and Wheel, Brakes-Air, Brakes-Hydraulic, A / C, Heater & Refrigeration, Cargo Handling / Transfer, Liftgates, Cranking System : (Electrical), Lighting System, Electrical Accessories, Clutch, Cooling Systems, Drive Axles, Drive Line, Diesel and Gas Engines - All Engines, Fuel Systems, Steering and Non-Driven Axles, Suspension-Chassis And Cab, Vehicle Coupling System (PM) etc.
• Coaches / mentors other level technicians
• Advise shop management and other technicians regarding maintenance repair procedures and diagnostics.
• Utilizes key functions of shop management system and electronic documentation available.
• Works in accordance with all federal / provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, dot, mot)
• Other support duties as required to support operations. These could include but are not limited to service island support.

License Required :

• 310T license required.
• A valid driver's license (Class G2 or above) required.

Qualifications

• Vocational or Technical Certification preferred Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications
• Basic tools, required
• Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including : - Routine preventative maintenance, which should include oil changes, brake and tire work- Diagnostics and repairs, including AC, electrical systems,- Advanced skilled level repairs to include some major engine repairs, diesel after treatment or automotive fuel injection repairs required
• Four (4) years or more relevant work experience preferred
• Knowledge of and the ability to apply knowledge of computer skills : PC, Windows, mouse, etc.advanced required
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
• All other certification as required by location, required
