Job summary

GFL - Sewer Technologies Division in Canada seeks a reliable mechanic to diagnose and repair heavy duty diesel trucks and equipment. You will service our fleet of Trucks, Vacuum Trucks and Power Wash Units, and maintain complex diesel, gas and electrical systems.

The role requires a 310T license, a valid Ontario G license with a clean abstract, own tools, and the ability to work with diagnostic software. You will ensure safety, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records in a semi-fast paced

Qualifications

• 310T License.
• Valid Ontario "G" drivers license with clean abstract.
• Own tools required.
• Experience using diagnostic software a plus.
• Must be computer literate and able to learn software systems.
• Must meet safety sensitive criteria per Company standards.
• Ability to communicate effectively with others.
• Follow detailed instructions, work independently and maintain accurate records.
• Ability to understand and use English repair and parts manuals.
• Operate any vehicle or equipment necessary to perform job.
• Possess physical ability to perform all aspects of job.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair operational difficulties with heavy duty diesel trucks and equipment.
• Service fleet of Trucks, Vacuum Trucks and Power Wash Units.
• Maintain and repair heavy diesel, CNG, gas and electrically operated equipment and vehicles.
• Complete reports, work orders, parts orders and perform other required administrative duties.
• Plan and schedule repairs and procure parts for the plan.
• Assist in reviewing mechanical write-ups and coordinate repair schedules.
• Ensure safe working conditions and compliance with safety regulations.
• Utilize power and hand tools and equipment.
• Maintain and provide tools to perform maintenance on heavy/hydraulic equipment.
• Keep work area clean and organized.
• Adhere to all laws, company policies and directives from supervisors.
• Assist in training and orientation of new employees.
• Stay updated with latest technology via manuals and training.
• Troubleshoot and repair or replace electrical, steering, hydraulics, brakes, fuels, emissions, cooling and air systems.
