310T Diesel Mechanic / Maintenance Technician I

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Diagnose malfunctions and perform vehicle repairs, including testing and adjusting steering, electrical, cooling, lubricating, braking systems, drive trains, suspensions, power steering units, clutches, transmissions, and engine components, in accordance with all relevant guidelines.
• Arrange inspections and obtain approval for major repairs before vehicle release.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work environment compliant with all regulations.
• Identify and report additional maintenance needs or vehicle abuse.
• Record all maintenance activities accurately.
• Report unsafe conditions or practices to the Lead Technician.
• Perform road calls and on-the-road repairs as needed.
• Uphold high ethical standards and personal integrity, reporting any suspicious or inappropriate behavior.

Qualifications:

• Certified technician with a 310T or 310S certification.
• At least 3 years of fleet maintenance experience, including repairs and engine rebuilds on diesel trucks or buses.
• Hands-on experience with diesel and gasoline engines in a large fleet environment.
• Proficient with computerized diagnostics.
• General shop computer skills, including purchasing and budget management.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Organizational skills are a plus.
