Job description

Job Title: 310T Diesel Mechanic / Technician I (251719)

Location: Sunderland, ON

Stock Transportation operates over 2,800 school buses serving numerous districts across Ontario, Nova Scotia, and Alberta. Our corporate office is located in Markham, ON. Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose malfunctions and perform vehicle repairs, including testing and adjusting various systems such as steering, electrical, cooling, brakes, drive trains, suspensions, and engines.
  • Arrange inspections and obtain approval for major repairs before releasing vehicles from the maintenance facility.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work environment in compliance with all relevant guidelines.
  • Identify and report additional maintenance needs during repairs.
  • Record all maintenance activities accurately.
  • Report unsafe conditions or practices to the Lead Technician.
  • Perform road calls and on-the-road repairs as assigned.
  • Exhibit high ethical standards and personal integrity, reporting suspicious or inappropriate behavior.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Certified technician with a 310T or 310S certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in fleet maintenance, including repairs and engine rebuilds on diesel trucks or buses.
  • Hands-on experience with diesel and gasoline engines in a large fleet environment.
  • Experience with computerized diagnostics.
  • General shop computer skills, including purchasing and budget management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Organizational skills are a plus.
