Job description

We are currently seeking a Truck and Trailer Apprentice Mechanic (310T Apprentice Mechanic) to join our growing operation. Headquartered in Etobicoke, ON (nearest intersection of Browns Line and Lakeshore), Starline Production Rentals Inc., was founded in 2000 and has grown steadily through acquisitions and organic growth. Our resources include a fleet of over 850 specialized trucks and trailers servicing the dynamic film and television industry. Supplying custom-built vehicles for actors, hair and makeup, cameras, rigging, wardrobe, and more requires ongoing repair and maintenance.

Qualifications & Responsibilities:

• Familiarity with repair and services such as electrical systems, landing gear, trailer frames, trailer bodies, suspension systems, wheels, hubs, axles, air and auxiliary systems, braking, and hydraulic systems
• Work under the supervision of a qualified 310 mechanic/supervisor
• Support the Mobile Generators division with shop cleanup, inventory, oil changes, maintenance, service calls, testing, and client service
• Perform scheduled maintenance services
• Maintain positive and professional work attitudes
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Excellent attention to detail

Experience & Working Conditions:

• Valid G Driver's License
• Minimum of 1 year as a registered 310T Truck and Coach Technician apprentice
• At least 2 years of experience in the trade
• Experience with diesel and oil
• Experience working with computers
• Availability for a minimum of 40 hours/week, with flexible schedule and overtime opportunities
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for long periods
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Self-motivated, eager to learn, and able to take direction
• Capable of working under pressure
