Job summary

JRB Electrical Service in Ontario is seeking a licensed Journeyman Electrician (309A) for installation, repair and maintenance of electrical wiring and fixtures. The role requires 1-2 years of related experience and a valid driver’s license.

The position is full-time and on-site, with competitive wages and standard safety gear provided. Responsibilities include planning installations, reading diagrams, installing conduit, splicing wires, connecting to lighting and equipment, and testing circuits

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed Journeyman 309A Electrician.
• Experience: 1-2 years preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Plans and executes wiring installations for new or modified setups in compliance with local codes.
• Prepares sketches or follows diagrams to position wiring and ensure access for maintenance.
• Measures, cuts, bends, threads, and installs conduit; connects wiring to fixtures and equipment.
• Installs distribution panels, switches, relays, and grounding leads.
• Tests circuit continuity and observes operation for adjustments or replacements.
• Performs repairs and related duties as needed.

Job Summary

• Installs and repairs wiring and electrical fixtures.

General Accountabilities

• Plans new or modified installations to provide access for future maintenance and avoid unsightly and hazardous wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes.
• Prepares sketches showing the location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring.
• Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assemble and installs electrical conduit.
• Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps.
• Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.
• Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels.
• Connects power cables to equipment and installs grounding leads.
• Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components.
• Observes the functioning of installed equipment or system to detect the need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
• Repairs faulty equipment or systems.
• Performs other related duties as needed.

Job Qualifications

• Must be a licensed Journeyman 309A Electrician
• Knowledge in conduit, ladder tray, wiring of various pumps, motors, sensors and control equipment, feeders and generators, is preferred.
• Willing to work at heights and in hot temperatures
• Education: College Diploma or training in vocational school
• Experience: 1-2 years of related experience
• Valid Driver’s License
