Job summary

JRB Electrical Service in Ontario is seeking a licensed Journeyman Electrician to install and repair wiring and electrical fixtures in commercial and industrial settings. You will plan installations, prepare sketches, install conduit, splice wires, connect lighting and equipment, and test circuits to ensure safety and compliance with local codes.

Candidates should have 1-2 years of related experience, a valid driver’s license, and be willing to work at heights; a college diploma or vocational

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed Journeyman 309A Electrician.
• Knowledge in conduit, ladder tray, wiring of various pumps, motors, sensors and control equipment, feeders and generators, is preferred.
• Willing to work at heights and in hot temperatures.
• Education: College Diploma or training in vocational school
• Experience: 1-2 years of related experience
• Valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities

• Plans new or modified installations to provide access for future maintenance and ensure compliance with local electrical codes.
• Prepares sketches or follows diagrams to install concealed wiring before finishing walls, ceilings, and flooring.
• Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit.
• Splices wires by stripping insulation, twisting or soldering, and applying tape or caps.
• Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.
• Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels.
• Connects power cables to equipment and installs grounding leads.
• Tests continuity of circuits to ensure safety and compatibility.
• Observes functioning of installed systems to determine adjustments or replacements.
• Repairs faulty equipment or systems.
• Performs other related duties as needed.
