Job summary

Dael Thermal Group Inc. is seeking an experienced 308A Sheet Metal Worker to join our industrial HVAC team in Concord, Ontario.

You will fabricate, install, modify, and repair sheet metal systems for industrial facilities, read mechanical drawings, and work with rooftop units and ductwork. This role requires safety-minded professionals who can work independently or with a service team, and travel across the GTA.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in sheet metal/HVAC installation or equivalent industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC ductwork systems and sheet metal fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Experience working around industrial HVAC equipment is an asset.
• Valid driver’s licence with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, install, modify, and repair HVAC sheet metal systems and components.
• Install and service ductwork, fittings, transitions, dampers, louvers, and related components.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, shop drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Measure, lay out, fabricate, and install sheet metal to project requirements.
• Perform field modifications and troubleshoot installation issues.
• Travel to customer sites across the GTA and surrounding areas as required.
• Complete required service reports and paperwork.

308A Sheet Metal Worker – Industrial HVAC

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced 308A Sheet Metal Worker to join our industrial HVAC team. This position is ideal for a skilled tradesperson who is comfortable working in industrial and commercial environments and has experience with HVAC systems, sheet metal fabrication, installation, and assisting service work.

The successful candidate will work alongside our refrigeration and combustion technicians to install, modify, repair, and maintain HVAC systems across a variety of industrial facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate, install, modify, and repair HVAC sheet metal systems and components.
• Install and service ductwork, fittings, transitions, dampers, louvers, and related components.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, shop drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Measure, lay out, fabricate, and install sheet metal accurately to project requirements.
• Perform field modifications and troubleshoot installation issues.
• Install and modify duct systems associated with industrial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment.
• Work with HVAC equipment including rooftop units, air handlers, make-up air units, exhaust systems, furnaces, boilers, and related equipment.
• Complete work in accordance with applicable codes, manufacturer specifications, project requirements, and company procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Complete required service reports, timesheets, material documentation, and other job-related paperwork.
• Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures.
• Work safely from ladders, lifts, scaffolding, and other approved access equipment.
• Travel to customer sites throughout the GTA and surrounding areas as required.
• Availability for weekend work when required.

Qualifications

• Valid 308A Sheet Metal Worker Certificate of Qualification.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in sheet metal/HVAC installation or a related industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC ductwork systems and sheet metal fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Proficient with hand and power tools used in sheet metal and HVAC applications.
• Experience working around industrial HVAC equipment is an asset.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary service team.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver’s licence with a clean or acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work at heights and in industrial environments.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
• Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
