Job summary

Voyago is seeking responsible and compassionate individuals to join our team of on demand part-time drivers in the Greater Niagara Region, including St. Catharines, Welland, Fort Erie, Niagara-On-The-Lake, Niagara Falls.

You will provide safe, door-to-door transportation and assist passengers with boarding and mobility devices, while delivering WOW customer service. The role offers flexible shifts and a unionized position with a pay rate of $20.40 per hour.

Qualifications

• Safe driving and a clean record required.
• Must obtain a clean criminal record search with vulnerable sector screening.
• Professional driver with a full G class license.
• Compassionate, patient approach when assisting passengers.
• Physically able to lift and maneuver assistive devices.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Offer door-to-door customer service.
• Assist passengers boarding vehicles and with wheelchairs or accessibility devices.
• Attach securement belts and secure mobility aids as needed.
• Ensure passenger, device and mobility aid safety and security.
• Provide accurate information on fares, schedules and stops.
• Maintain a safe and comfortable environment throughout the journey.
• Communicate professionally with passengers and team members.
• Adhere to company policies and safety standards; deliver WOW service.
• Handle the physical demands of the role, including pushing wheelchairs up to 250 lbs.

Voyago is seeking responsible and compassionate individuals to join our team of on demand part-time drivers in the Greater Niagara Region! Including St. Catharines, Welland, Fort Erie, Niagara-On-The-Lake, Niagara Falls.

Your Role

As an On Demand Service driver, you will take pride in playing a key role in ensuring the independence and mobility of our city’s most vulnerable passengers. Your efforts will directly contribute to their ability to access essential services, appointments, and daily activities safely and comfortably. You will provide safe, reliable transportation, while delivering excellent customer service and assisting passengers with care and respect. You will perform basic vehicle inspections at the start of each shift to ensure the vehicle is in good working order, including checking tire pressure, brakes, lights, and other essential systems. The rate of pay for this position is $20.40 per hour. This is a unionized position.

Key Responsibilities

• You are offering door-to-door customer service.
• You may be assisting passengers in boarding vehicles and maneuvering wheelchairs or other accessible devices.
• You may be attaching securement belts and lifting portable assistive devices as needed.
• You will ensure the proper restraint and security of passengers, devices, and mobility aids if applicable.
• You are providing passengers with accurate information on fares, schedules and stops.
• You will maintain a safe and comfortable environment throughout the journey.
• You will communicate effectively and professionally with passengers and team members.
• You will adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• You will be providing WOW! customer service to all passengers at all times.
• You are comfortable with a fast paced physically demanding job (pushing wheelchairs with a maximum of 250lbs. Twisting, pulling, getting low to the ground to secure the wheelchairs).

Requirements

Your Profile

• You are a safe driver with a clean driving record.
• You can obtain a clean criminal record search with vulnerable sector screening.
• You are a professional driver with a minimum full G class drivers license.
• You are able to work with individuals who may have special needs in a compassionate and patient manner.
• You are physically capable to lift and maneuver assistive devices if required.
• You have excellent communication skills both written and oral.
• Your prior experience in a similar role would be preferred.
• You are comfortable working around any type of service animal.
• You have a sound knowledge of the Greater Niagara region and surrounding area.
• Various shifts available: Monday to Sunday: morning/afternoon/evenings, as well as 'Open Report' drivers who will be scheduled for onsite shifts, to pick up and cover multiple driving shifts as needed, and casual drivers.
