Nova Scotia Community College is seeking a Campus Library Technician (Strait Area Campus) in Port Hawkesbury, NS, to support library services and technology. The position runs full-time from approximately October 13, 2026, to March 31, 2027, with an application deadline of September 29, 2026.
You will assist students and staff with research, access to resources, and technology support, using Alma, Primo VE, Office 365, and LMS tools, while promoting equitable, accessible library services.

Salary range: $47,711.56 to $55,553.09 annually
The minimum educational qualification for this position is a diploma in Library and Information Technology.
You have a minimum of one year (full time equivalent) of recent and related occupational experience in a library environment. Academic library experience is considered an asset.
You have experience supporting and providing service to diverse user groups.
You have experience with academic integrity, citation and referencing.
You possess strong demonstrated experience with library applications, including library service platforms (Alma is an asset) and discovery services (Primo VE is an asset), specialized databases; internet resources and LibApps (e.g., LibGuides).
You have strong demonstrated computer literacy skills, including experience with Office 365 and Learning Management Systems (e.g., Brightspace). Pressbooks experience is considered an asset.
You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology in advancing your work.
Copyright and open educational resources (OER) experience is considered an asset.
Experience with assistive technology e.g., alternate format texts (AFTs), text-to-speech software, accessibility features in desktop and web applications and equipment, is considered an asset.

The Campus Library Technician reports on campus to the Manager of Student Services and functionally to the Manager of Libraries & Learning Commons.
